Pack with Love Youth Service Club was founded by Joanna Zhang as a sixth-grade student, with a simple desire: to help children feel loved, seen, and remembered.
Designed primarily for elementary and middle school students, the club gives young people a meaningful place to create, serve, learn, and grow as caring leaders. As it grows, high school students may join as members, mentors, and project leaders under adult-advisor guidance.
We partner — project by project — with churches, schools, nonprofits, and mission programs, while remaining fully independent and youth-led.
To help young people use creativity, teamwork, and care to create practical and meaningful projects for children — in partnership with trusted local communities.
To care for children and communities, and to help young people grow through meaningful service. We don't measure success only by how many items we give.
We believe every child is created with God-given dignity and deserves to be seen, valued, encouraged, and cared for. We seek to reflect the love of Jesus through joyful creation, thoughtful service, and practical care — always with humility, kindness, and respect.
We serve children and families of every background with respect. No child or family is ever required to attend an activity, share personal information, or take part in a follow-up program in order to receive a backpack or care item.
We learn about the children and the setting before deciding what to create.
We choose designs and items that are safe, useful, joyful, and culturally respectful.
Children are people to love, never a photo opportunity.
Our work strengthens the relationships local partners already have with families.
Students carry real, age-appropriate responsibility; adults hold the guardrails.
We reflect and improve before taking on bigger quantities or new partners.
Students lead in age-appropriate ways. Adult Advisors build the guardrails for safety, finances, production, and partnerships — students help carry the vision forward.
